SmartGuardian

SmartGuardian is a comprehensive Quality and Energy Efficiency Measurement System that integrates the following functions:

Data Logger: Captures and records historical data for both internal and integrated variables.
RTU (Remote Terminal Unit): Supports communication across various protocols.
Controller: Manages operations for wells and industrial processes.
Electrical Protector (optional): Safeguards Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) against sustained and transient overvoltages.

This “All-in-One System” offers versatile configurations, enabling the measurement of electrical parameters in low and medium voltage across various points within the electrical system of an Artificial Lift System. This functionality supports energy management objectives in line with ISO 50001 standards.

SmartGuardian is designed to continuously and safely record and monitor the electrical and operational parameters of any Artificial Lift System, including ESP (Electric Submersible Pumps), PCP (Progressive Cavity Pumps), SRP (Sucker Rod Pumps), and Horizontal Pumping Systems (HPS). By providing real-time data, it revolutionizes the traditional approach to taking these measurements, minimizing field technicians’ exposure to electrical hazards and enabling instantaneous decision-making.

The SmartGuardian controller offers versatile installation options: it can be mounted as a standalone unit, or embedded within a Speed Drive (SPdrive), switchboard, or even a junction box (SBOX) with customized software tailored for any application or Artificial Lift Method.

When installed within a drive or switchboard, SmartGuardian controls the entire system, serving as the main interface for both the drive and the Artificial Lift System (ALS). In this capacity, SmartGuardian functions as a universal controller, integrating and managing all key components.

The controller includes advanced ANALYTICS software designed for visualization and in-depth analysis, providing a user-friendly tool for various equipment operators and users. It allows for the monitoring of electrical parameters related to quality and energy efficiency, recording and evaluating energy consumption, capturing and analyzing backspin events, and setting programmable alarms. Additionally, it offers the ability to graph multiple variables simultaneously, among many other features that streamline and enhance equipment operation.

The Production Control Module is an integral feature of the software, enabling the ability to infer flow rate trends solely based on the electrical parameters captured by the system.

When deployed across all wells, this system can identify production losses and uncover potential optimization opportunities, enhancing overall field performance.
